Berwick "Apple Dome" Construction
The Kings Mutual Century Centre, featuring the APPLE DOME Arena is a “state-of-the-art” multimillion-dollar facility. It assures future generations of Berwick and District the arena-facility they need and deserve.
Dumac Energy provided complete mechanical and electrical consulting engineering services for this project, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, security, communications, plumbing, heating, ventilation , air-conditioning, fire protection and building automation system.
The Kings Mutual Century Centre officially opened in October, 2010.
The facility includes NHL-sized ice, a walking track, a common area and community room. Money came from all levels of government; one third came from the community, through business and organization sponsorship, family and memorial donations and intensive fundraising by dedicated volunteers.
The doors opened debt-free; with what looks to be a half-million dollars extra. That money is already earmarked for phase two - a curling club, fitness centre, library, an outdoor pool. The work isn’t over as the full Apple Dome dream is yet to be realized.
