Museum of Immigration Addition and Renovation
The museum located on Pier 21 at the Halifax waterfront needed to expand into the adjacent Annex building and a significant portion of the museum space required renovations. The project also included an extensive upgrade of the HVAC systems.
Dumac Energy provided complete mechanical and electrical consulting engineering services for this project, including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, security, communications, plumbing, heating, ventilation , air-conditioning, fire protection and building automation system.
The Museum’s main exhibition is dedicated to the years when Pier 21 was open as an immigration shed. One million immigrants, refugees, war brides, evacuee children and displaced persons came through this gateway between 1928 and 1971.
