This new 109,000 square foot, P-9 school provides a contemporary, state-of-the-art educational facility for its 950 students. The school is organized around a continuous circulation route with a two-storey, glazed atrium connecting many of the important academic and shared public spaces.
The project’s goal of LEED Gold certification will be achieved through the use of regionally sourced materials and renewable resources. Locally manufactured wood pellets, a renewable resource, will provide much of the space heating. A green roof to harvest rainwater and low flow fixtures will help reduce water consumption. An energy efficient lighting and control system will reduce energy consumption.
