MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
The mechanical engineering section is managed by M. Gerard Doyle, P. Eng., a Senior Engineer with 37 years of experience in mechanical building systems design. He has participated in hundreds of engineering projects, including many for the both the private and public sectors. Gerard has six mechanical staff members reporting to him.
The mechanical design group provided engineering for projects ranging from a few thousand to several million dollars over the last thirty years. A recent project, a large $38M state-of-the-art educational facility scheduled to open in September 2013 included many energy reducing strategies and has been designed to attain LEED Gold.
The mechanical design team is focused on blending conventional solutions with cutting edge technologies to meet the requirements of today’s buildings.
Featured Mechanical Engineering Project (2015): Ross Farm goes Geothermal with help from DUMAC.
'The building has been built into the side of a hill, with a partially green roof. In addition to being environmentally friendly, the 16,000 square foot facility is extremely energy efficient. Its geothermal energy system designed by Marc Dumaresq and his team of engineers at Dumac, will make the learning centre sustainable for years to come.' c/o acoa.ca
